Army Aviation Support Facility #3
AASF #3 is one of three Army National Guard aviation flight facilities in the Tennessee Army National Guard and is located in Jackson, TN at the McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport. It was established in 1994 and has operated the UH-1 "Huey," the AH-64 Apache the OH-58D Kiowa Warrior, the Army's armed reconnaissance helicopter, and currently the UH-60 Blackhawk. AASF #3 has supported multiple overseas operations in both Iraq and Afghanistan since the beginning of the Global War on Terror. With low level flight routes all over West Tennessee, AASF #3 pilots make every attempt to "fly neighborly" when on routine training missions. The facility is commanded by Major Mark C. Jordan. The mission of the AAAA is to support the United States Army Aviation Soldier and Family through networking, recognition, providing a voice for the Army Aviation community and supporting the Soldiers that make up that community. AAAA has over 18,000 active members!
The AAAA Scholarship Foundation benefits from specific chapter activities, meetings, and forums that are held at the local level to generate funds for the Foundation, like the Tennessee Fallen Aviator Car Show!
The Fallen Aviator Car Show is executed and hosted by Soldiers from AASF #3 but is organized through the the Volunteer Chapter of the Army Aviation Association of America.
The Tennessee Army National Guard
The volunteer spirit and Tennessee, an inseparable combination since 1780 when Colonel John Sevier called for "100 good men"—and 200 answered—has been a source of pride for generations of Tennesseans.
Today, that spirit is still alive and well with the more than 10,700 Soldiers of the Tennessee Army National Guard. They serve as full partners with active duty American men and women, worldwide, to make up the "Total Force" of American defense.
America simply cannot defend herself or go to war without the National Guard.
Tennessee is the home of the 278th Armored Cavalry Regiment, the 194th Engineer Brigade, the 30th Troop Command, and the 230th Sustainment Brigade.
The Tennessee National Guard is commanded by Major General Jeff H. Holmes.
